Submarine tours are planned for 0930 and 1300:  sign up no later than Wednesday, July 8 by email at sdsubvets@gmail.comProvide the full name of each participant and which tour (morning or afternoon) is preferred.  Participants will need to carry photo ID (DL is sufficient).  Space is limited so sign up early.  As always, tours are dependent on submarine availability and subject to last minute schedule changes.

If you already have routine base access (retiree ID, active duty ID, CAC card), you are good to go and just need to show up.  You may escort up to 10 additional individuals so car pool whenever possible.

If you do not have routine base access, contact Warren Branges at sdsubvets@gmail.com or call (619) 971-8292 no later than Wednesday, July 8.  You will need to provide first and last name, drivers license number, date of birth and social security number for each person requiring access to the base.


Trieste Base was officially formed on July 20, 2008.  We are located in the SoCal Inland Empire…. Riverside County to be exact.  We are seeking new members in our area and if you are a veteran, retiree, or active duty member who is “Qualified in Submarines” please Join Our Base.  We meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month.  Wives and walks-ins are always welcome.  We chose our name after the deep-diving research bathyscaphes Trieste I and Trieste II.

USSVI Constitution


Section 1:

To perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave their lives in the pursuit of their duties while serving their country.  That their dedication, deeds, and supreme sacrifice be a constant source of motivation toward greater accomplishments.  Pledge loyalty and patriotism to the United States of America and its Constitution.

Section 2:

In addition to perpetuating the memory of departed shipmates, we shall provide a way for all Submariners to gather for the mutual benefit and enjoyment.  Our common heritage as Submariners shall be Strengthened by camaraderie.  We support a strong U.S. Submarine Force.

Section 3:

The organization will engage in various projects and deeds that will bring about the perpetual remembrance of those shipmates who have given the supreme sacrifice.  The organization will also endeavor to educate all third parties it comes in contact with about the services our submarine brothers performed and how their sacrifices made possible the freedom and lifestyle we enjoy today.
